The project focuses on the theme of self-identity, understood as a tension between self-reflection and external perception. Only when the inner and outer worlds, the self and the other, hearing and being heard interact can a sustainable self-image emerge. Music and literature are used to create a space in which this fragile balance becomes audible and makes listeners contemplate.
A musical dialogue: The musical relationship between the two instruments reflects the tension between self-reflection, communication and external perception. The concert programme combines works by composers such as Moritz Eggert, Isang Yun, Mauricio Kagel and Joep Straesser, each of whom deals with reflection, perception and identity in their own way.
This is complemented by short stories by various authors woven into the musical sections. As another art form, literature provides a different approach and brings new perspectives to the theme.
